First Responders are trained to respond to natural disasters, medical emergencies, fires and crimes. They are routinely exposed to traumatic events in the course of their duties. Psychological trauma in the form of acute stress (short periods of high levels of stress) and chronic stress (prolonged periods of stress) is an occupational hazard routinely faced by First Responders. Stressed and burned out workers are more likely to be unhealthy, poorly motivated, and less productive.
Our Program Objectives:
The Resiliency P.O.W.E.R. Program for First Responders can be adjusted to meet the needs of each individual agency, department, or hospital.
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
